On January 6th, 2024, we celebrated our first Holy Qurbana at the sacred altar of St. Faustina’s Pilgrim Centre, Krakow. This historic celebration marked the formal beginning of our parish gatherings in Krakow. We are especially grateful to the faithful from the Vienna parish who traveled to support us at this important milestone. Since then, by God’s grace, we have been able to offer the Holy Qurbana monthly, a rhythm that has become the spiritual heartbeat of our growing community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Rev. Fr. Joshua Ramban, who faithfully travels from Vienna each month to serve us and celebrate the Holy Qurbana. Despite not having a permanent place of worship, Rambachen and the parish committee have consistently ensured that a place for prayer is arranged, allowing our community to gather regularly around the Holy Mysteries.
In February 2024, the official parish committee was formed through elections:
President: Very Rev. Fr. Joshua Ramban
Secretary: Mr. Vineeth Thomas Varkey
Treasurer: Mr. Christo Yohanan
One of the most cherished moments of the year was the ordination of our Vicar as a Ramban, a truly joyful and proud occasion for all of us, celebrated in February. We were also blessed to celebrate Palm Sunday (Oshana) and Christmas with active participation and support from members of the Vienna and Warsaw parishes.
Under the spiritual leadership of Rambachen, our community welcomed two altar servers: Ivin George Thomas and Shawn Mathew, who now assist faithfully during the liturgical services. We also began Friday evening learning sessions focused on Qurbana hymns, which helped in the formation of our parish choir group.
A major initiative this year was our participation in the All-Europe Syriac Orthodox Christmas Carol Competition. Though we did not reach the top three, our team performed with great spirit and dedication. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this effort:
Suman Mathew, Bency Issac, Joshi John, Jomol Abraham, Ablyn, Christo Yohanan, Tintu Thambi, Jijo Koshy, Blessy Babu, Jithin Raju, Teena Abraham, Sanjith Cherian, Soji George, Soumia, Ivin Thomas, Jovin Thomas, Riya Christo, Rachel Christo, Serene Mathew, Shaun Mathew, Joshua Sanjith, Serah Jithin, Serah Jijo, and Hannah Jijo.
Our parish community has steadily grown in strength and fellowship. We are now a registered community of 8 families, with around 25 active members, including faithful from various denominations. Some of our members travel from as far as Katowice to be part of our gatherings. This shared commitment and growing bond reflect the spirit of true Christian fellowship.
We express our deep gratitude to our beloved Joshua Rambachen, the altar servers, committee members, and each and every member of the community for their dedication and love. May the Lord continue to bless our Krakow parish and guide us in all our efforts.
